I am deeply sorry that Christopher Lee could not be with us anymore at the premiere. But I am sure he was there. We were all amazed by his wonderful, generous artistic work on the film and I am very grateful to have had the honour to work with him on several films and to know him for over 30 years.
I had hoped he could dub himself in German that he spoke so well. Christopher could speak, sing and act in 12 languages. He was a voice genius, a legendary, charismatic actor and an incredibly kind, spirited and courageous man with a wonderful humour, an activist for world peace and human rights who has studied philosophy, history and music. But above all, he was a truly great friend for all my life. I miss him a lot.
The premiere in London and Germany was dedicated to Christopher Lee, because "Angels in Notting Hill" was his last film. The film was shown in London and Germany - with subtitles to leave his unique voice unchanged.
